Meet the CEO – Our Founder’s Story

Ahnire’s Independent Living Foundation was founded from a place of lived experience, professional service, and a deep belief that housing is the foundation for stability and dignity.

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer, I bring over seven years of experience in the healthcare and human services field, working directly with individuals navigating homelessness, health challenges, and systemic barriers. My professional background includes serving as a medical liaison, where I worked closely with patients, providers, and support teams to ensure continuity of care and advocacy for vulnerable populations.

I have also served as a Residential Housing Assistant at my county’s local homeless shelter, where I gained firsthand insight into the realities of housing insecurity and the challenges individuals face while transitioning out of homelessness. In this role, I supported residents on a daily basis, helping them navigate housing stability, mental health challenges, and life transitions with dignity and respect.

Additionally, I have worked hands-on with individuals living with mental and developmental disabilities, further shaping my understanding of compassionate, person-centered care. These experiences reinforced my belief that stability, patience, and respect are essential to helping individuals reclaim independence.

My commitment to service is deeply personal. Helping others is a value my mother instilled in me from a young age, teaching me the importance of empathy, responsibility, and giving back to the community. Those lessons have guided both my career path and my leadership approach.

Ahnire’s Independent Living Foundation was created to bridge the gap between homelessness and independence by providing safe, affordable independent living homes for individuals and veterans in need. My vision is rooted in the belief that when people are given stable housing and treated with dignity, they are empowered to rebuild their lives and define their own futures.
